Business Company Formation Plans
If you are exploring company formation in the UAE, there are critical factors to consider. First, the process will differ based on the Emirate you choose to operate because while the UAE federal government oversees business incorporation for the entire company, the seven Emirates have differing rules and regulations regarding these processes.
UAE Free Zone Company
The UAE is home to many free zones. Unlike mainland companies, free zones are not subject to foreign ownership restrictions, and they generally receive ancillary and financial benefits.
The UAE currently has 45 free zones in operation. Each free zone focuses on one or more commercial categories and only offers licences to entities within those areas of expertise. An example is Dubai Media City, which exclusively focuses on creative and media companies.
Setting up an offshore company in a free zone in the UAE allows shareholders, directors and employees to gain residency visas.
UAE Mainland Company
When doing business in the UAE, you may want want to establish your activity with a Mainland company set up.
UAE LLCs can take several different forms and varies according to the emirate you choose to establish your activities. While the UAE federal government oversees setting up a business in the UAE as a whole, each of the seven individual emirates has separate laws and regulations concerning company incorporation and financial oversight.
Regardless of the emirate, most businesses in the UAE do not pay direct taxes on corporate profits or personal income and customs duties stand at five per cent with many exemptions.
